US Agricultural Groups React to Beef Import Proposal
In an effort to reduce prices for American consumers, President Donald Trump proposed that the United States could purchase beef from Argentina.

We would buy some beef from Argentina. If we do that, that will bring our beef prices down, while speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One.
Agricultural organizations expressed concerns over the proposal, prompting Trump to defend his stance on social media, citing the positive impact of tariffs on the US cattle industry.
Trump posted on Truth Social,
The Cattle Ranchers, who I love, don’t understand that the only reason they are doing so well, for the first time in decades, is because I put Tariffs on cattle coming into the United States, including a 50% Tariff on Brazil.
