Industry bodies have applauded the government's decision not to consider a text and data mining (TDM) exception in future updates to Australia's copyright laws.
The Productivity Commission's interim report on Harnessing Data and Digital Technology had sought feedback on TDM as a possible exception under Australia's fair dealing regime, prompting a rebuke from the creative industries.
