The Netherlands has delivered an Alkmaar-class mine countermeasures vessel to Ukraine, enhancing Kyiv's naval capabilities in the Black Sea.
By the end of 2025, a second vessel is expected to be delivered, according to Vice Admiral Oleksii Neizhpapa, Commander of the Ukrainian Navy.
"Recently, we received an Alkmaar-class mine countermeasures vessel from our partners, and by the end of the year, we expect the delivery of another. Crew training is already underway,"
Neizhpapa met with a delegation led by Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Breekelman and Commander-in-Chief of the Dutch Armed Forces General Onno Eichelsheim to discuss the security situation and prospects for further cooperation.
