The final game for a Prince Albert Minor Football team was played at Max Clunie Field on Sunday afternoon, with the Bantam River Riders facing off against the Hague Junior Panthers in their first-ever matchup.
The River Riders emerged victorious with a 27-8 win, overcoming an initial 8-0 deficit at the half.
“We typically in the fall play 12 –a-side in the KFL (Kinsmen Football League), but this year we didn’t have the people for that, so this was our first fall playing six -a-side,”
said Ashley Viklund, coach of the Bantam River Riders, explaining the unusual circumstances that led to the matchup.
