A dark web post claiming to have GCash data sets has been deleted after a government investigation found the files to be fake.
According to GCash, the investigation, led by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) through the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC), concluded that there was no data breach.
The CICC confirmed that GCash did not succumb to any form of data leak.
Information Secretary Henry Aguda stated that the DICT initiated an investigation into the alleged data breach. GCash has assured its users that their accounts and funds are safe and secure, having received clearance from state regulators.
