An Idaho campaign to legalize medical marijuana has gained state approval to begin gathering signatures for the 2026 general election ballot.
The Idaho Medical Cannabis Act, backed by the Natural Medicine Alliance of Idaho, would create a regulated program for patients with serious medical conditions to access marijuana under state oversight.
Patients would need a Medical Cannabis Card to participate. The proposal also establishes a vertically integrated licensing system for production and distribution.
