Rob Jetten is the EU's dream, but the Brussels establishment shouldn't celebrate too hard just yet.
Wednesday's election in the Netherlands was a good day for Europe's centrists. Geert Wilders, the far-right populist, lost nearly a third of his voters after 11 chaotic months for his Party for Freedom (PVV) in coalition.
At the same time, the pro-European liberal Rob Jetten surged in the final days of the campaign and stands a good chance of becoming prime minister. If he succeeds, at 38, he would be the youngest person to hold the office since World War II and the first openly gay candidate ever to do so.
But here’s why the Brussels establishment shouldn’t celebrate too hard just yet.
