Every November, the Booker Prize and the National Book Award are announced, generating significant hype on platforms like Bookstagram and Booktok.
The author has grand plans to read the entire longlist of each award, but this goal is never achieved due to a busy schedule and a desire to read other books.
I get excited and have grand plans of reading the entire longlist of each before the shortlist is announced. This, of course, never happens.
The longlists are announced in late July and early September, respectively, and the author is unable to dedicate enough time to read all the books on the lists.
