Palmyra Borough Council officials have laid out a worst-case scenario 2026 budget, including a potential 0.9-mill tax increase for residents.
The council was presented with a projected general fund balance of $422,787 for the first quarter of next year, which is $277,213 short of the minimum $700,000 needed to operate.
"Are we recommending a tax increase? No,"
Borough manager Roger Powl stated that the projected deficit could be as high as $456,872, but he believes it will be lower.
The budget plans are being considered with only half of the council present.
