Police in Dahod have busted a gang of beggars who stole ₹5 lakh from a trader under the pretext of seeking alms.
The theft occurred on October 29, when six women entered a trader’s office at the Dahod grain market posing as beggars and stole ₹5 lakh from a drawer.
After the trader lodged a complaint, police teams examined CCTV footage and found the suspects had fled towards Alirajpur in Madhya Pradesh in a white Tata Safari.
Acting on intelligence, police set up a checkpoint at Khangela, intercepted the vehicle, and nabbed all seven accused.
