The Idaho Department of Fish and Game has released its annual report on wild steelhead and wild spring and summer chinook, showing that the fish continue to struggle.
According to Tim Copeland, a fisheries biologist for the department,
“This seems to show they may not be getting sicker but they are not back to full health yet”.
The report, titled Wild Adult Steelhead and Chinook Salmon Abundance and Composition at Lower Granite Dam, Spawn Year 2024, measures the overall abundance of the fish and their performance based on brood year and migration year.
Author's summary: Annual report shows wild fish struggling.
