London-based artist Bakey has launched his first album after two years of creation. The nine-track record, titled Tribute, is now available on Warehouse Project Records. The album blends emotional peaks influenced by 2-step and jungle with melodic elements of broken beat and dubstep, all inspired by club sound systems and pirate radio culture.
“The title ‘Tribute’ reflects my connection to an era of UK dance music I never experienced first-hand, but that continues to inspire me,” Bakey says, “Late ’90s to early ’00s pirate radio, raves, club nights and soundsystem scenes.”
Mura Masa has released a new four-track EP titled CURVE+1 through his own label, Pond Recordings. This EP follows last year’s Curve 1. The lead single, “Handsup,” was released earlier in the month, accompanied by a visualizer capturing the closeness of the dancefloor and the vibrant beats that drive it.
Peruvian artist Alejandra Cárdenas, also known as Ale Hop, has announced her latest album, A Body Like a Home, on Nicolas Jaar’s Other People imprint. The project includes 13 tracks alongside 15 poems, blending musical and literary expression.
