South Devon MP Caroline Voaden continues to push for a banking hub in Totnes, questioning a Treasury Minister in Parliament on November 4.
She asked if new regulation is needed to retain face-to-face banking services in rural areas, noting that while the Financial Conduct Authority protects access to cash, no government body oversees access to face-to-face banking services.
Ms Voaden mentioned that Lloyds Banking Group will prevent customers from cashing cheques at Post Offices from January next year.
