Election Day: What is California Prop 50 and where to vote

Election Day: California Prop 50 and Voting Information

It's Election Day in California, and voters have the last chance to cast their ballots in the Proposition 50 special election.

Proposition 50 will give voters the power to decide California's Congressional district lines. Republicans view it as a Democratic power grab, while Democrats believe it's necessary to counter Republican redistricting in Texas.

Voters can mail in or drop off their ballots, or vote in person at vote centers, which are open from 7 a.m. Anyone in line at a vote center by 8 p.m. will still be able to cast their vote.

Although voting is still underway, ballot counting has already begun across the state.

Stay in line, your vote will still be counted.

Author's summary: Californians vote on Proposition 50 today.
