Mass Layoffs at Meati
Meati, a Colorado-based alt meat company, has laid off multiple employees, including the entire fermentation team and food production staff.
“The entire fermentation team has been laid off as well as food production; only some managers and maintenance people will remain.”
The layoffs come after weeks of payroll glitches and financial difficulties, which led to the company's acquisition by Meati Holdings over the summer.

An employee stated that the reason for the layoffs is to
“reduce headcount while they figure out finances”.
