Government to join forces with employers to tackle ill-health

Government Partners with Employers to Address Workplace Ill-Health

The government has announced a new collaboration with employers to confront workplace ill-health and ensure that Britain remains productive. This initiative follows Sir Charlie Mayfield’s Keep Britain Working Review.

Three-Year Partnership

Over the next three years, more than 60 major companies and numerous small businesses will join forces with the government. Their shared goal is to tackle the rising levels of ill-health that drive employees out of the workforce and restrict economic growth.

Focus on Prevention and Support

The employer-led vanguard initiative will redesign workplace practices around health management. It will prioritize prevention, early support, and effective return-to-work processes.

“The project will reshape how health issues and disabilities are managed in workplaces, helping more people stay in employment and strengthening the UK’s commitment to disability inclusion.”

Expected Outcomes

Author’s summary: The UK government and employers are launching a joint three-year effort to reduce workplace ill-health, improve support systems, and strengthen national employment inclusion.
