According to a survey of 2,001 UK employees and 205 decision-makers, 76% of workers spend a significant portion of their week on admin tasks, leading to reduced morale and increased burnout.
Workers lose an average of 9 hours a week to "shadow work", equivalent to nearly a quarter of a 40-hour week, with 12 minutes of focus lost every time they switch back to core tasks.
These tasks keep workers from their key responsibilities, with 50% identifying shadow work as the biggest driver of burnout and 52% reporting negative effects on job satisfaction.
