The Betfred World Club Challenge will take place in Hull, bringing a world-class rugby league event to the city.
Councillor Mike Ross, Leader of Hull City Council, expressed enthusiasm about hosting the event:
“After interest from Qatar, Australia, and other UK cities, we are delighted another world-class event is coming to Hull, with the prestigious Betfred World Club Challenge heading to the MKM Stadium.”
The MKM Stadium, a 25,000-seat community venue built in 2002, was designed to attract international sporting events. The upcoming challenge features Hull’s treble-winning Robins facing NRL champions Brisbane Broncos in February.
Reflecting on recent celebrations for Hull KR’s return, which attracted 30,000 people lining the streets, the city is expected to show strong civic pride and enthusiasm for this global rugby league occasion.
The event aims to welcome rugby fans nationwide alongside the Brisbane Broncos players, staff, and supporters traveling from abroad.
“You’ll be given a very warm and friendly Hull welcome from the greatest rugby league city in the world.”
Hull prepares to showcase its passion for rugby league by hosting the Betfred World Club Challenge, promising a vibrant event for fans and international teams alike.
