Alaska’s Weather Source reports that a First Alert Weather Day has been declared for Thursday, with a significant chance of snow spreading across Southcentral Alaska.
According to meteorologists, an area of low pressure over the Gulf of Alaska is pushing moist air into the region. This system is expected to bring steady snowfall beginning around midday and continuing into Thursday evening.
Snow is forecast to taper off by early Friday as the system moves out of the area, leaving behind wet conditions for lower elevations and moderate snow cover in upland zones.
