Comstock Inc. (NYSE: LODE) and its subsidiary Comstock Metals LLC, a company focused on responsible recycling of end-of-life solar panels through a certified North American zero-landfill solution, announced that it has received notification of eligibility for a Written Determination Permit from the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection – Bureau of Sustainable Materials Management (NDEP-BSMM).
The permit authorizes the processing of waste solar panels and photovoltaics at Comstock’s large-scale materials recovery facility in Silver Springs, Nevada. This approval ensures the company remains on track with its plan to commission its first industrial-scale facility in Silver Springs.
“This timely approval keeps our scale-up plans for commissioning our first industry-scale facility in Silver Springs, NV, right on schedule.”
Comstock Metals also anticipates receiving an Air Quality Control Permit within the coming weeks, subject to standard public notice and compliance conditions. When finalized, these permits will complete the set of regulatory approvals required for the company’s facility capable of processing more than 3 million solar panels annually, amounting to approximately 100,000 tons of waste material per year.
