Australian pop icon Kylie Minogue will release a fresh Christmas single titled 'Xmas' as an Amazon Music Original. The pop legend confirmed the news just recently, announcing that 'Xmas' will help define this festive season.
The track, pronounced X–M–A–S, is an energetic celebration filled with holiday cheer. It will be available digitally through Amazon Music, and also offered on CD, seven-inch gold vinyl, and 12-inch zoetrope vinyl. Fans can pre-order the physical versions via Amazon or Kylie’s official store.
Recording and Inspiration
Kylie introduced the single during her appearance on The Scott Mills Show on Radio 2. She revealed that the song was recorded in June, during a short break from her Tension tour—an unusual time for crafting holiday music.
“Because I was on the road, we didn’t get to go so Christmassy. I think it was from a CBeebies Christmas story I did, and they gave me a Christmas stocking. I thought, I have got to take something Christmassy and that was it. We didn’t get to do fairy lights or paper chains, but in spirit we were very Christmassy.”
