Jusuf Nurkic’s late putback secured a 105-103 victory for the Utah Jazz over the Boston Celtics on Monday night at TD Garden. With only 0.6 seconds left, the veteran center’s basket capped a dramatic comeback for Utah.
The Jazz erased a 10-point halftime deficit to end their three-game losing streak, improving their season record to 3-4. Keyonte George led Utah’s scoring with a season-high 31 points, shooting 56.3% from the field and adding four assists.
The Celtics, now 3-5 for the season, were led by Jaylen Brown’s 36 points, despite missing all nine of his three-point attempts. Boston’s offense struggled from beyond the arc, shooting just 21.6% (11-for-51), their lowest percentage this season.
Coming out of halftime, Utah surged with a 25-14 run in the third quarter, taking their first lead at 61-60. The game stayed close throughout, with nine ties and six lead changes.
“Derrick White hit a technical free throw to make it 102-101 after a defensive three-second call. But Brown tripped on the ensuing possession, allowing Markkanen to steal the ball and score in transition.”
Neemias Queta then split two free throws to tie the game at 103, setting up Nurkic’s final decisive play.
