Seven residents of Brookmans Park have collectively won £1 million through the People’s Postcode Lottery. The lucky postcode, AL9 6PT, was selected for the weekly “Millionaire Street” prize, distributing life-changing amounts among neighbours.
Among the winners is 52-year-old Steven Bean, who plans to donate part of his and his wife Olesya’s prize to support a local charity for adults with learning difficulties.
“The first thing I’m going to do is give some money to a charity who had a bus stolen and burned,” said Steven Bean.
The organization he mentioned, Camphill Milton Keynes, had its only minibus stolen and later found burned on October 9. The group’s head of development, Lucy Davies, commented on the impact the incident had on their community.
“It has been a very difficult time for our residents who have found this situation very confusing and upsetting,” said Lucy Davies.
Steven noted that although the bus was insured, the payout does not cover the cost of a replacement, expressing hope that others would also contribute to the cause.
Brookmans Park residents shared a £1 million Postcode Lottery win, as one winner pledged part of his prize to help a charity replace its stolen and burned bus.
