Today's Craig Melvin Makes Surprising Confession During 'Jenna & Friends' Cohosting Debut

Several personalities from the Today show are making their cohosting debuts on Jenna & Friends this week. Craig Melvin's first appearance alongside Jenna Bush Hager on the fourth hour of Today took place on Monday, November 3.

During the episode, Melvin commented on the set, saying, “This is a nice set,” before admitting,

“You know, I’ve never seen the show.”

His admission caught Bush Hager off guard. She responded humorously,

“That is so rude.”

Melvin explained that his lack of viewing was due to his schedule:

“Well, because usually, we’re just getting off. I’m usually in transit, but this is nice. … I know, I could probably watch some of it.”

At the start of the show, Melvin praised Bush Hager's work on Jenna & Friends, highlighting her success since Hoda Kotb left the Today show in January. He said,

“What you have managed to do over the last few months on this show, from just a purely broadcasting perspective, as the kids would say, real recognize[s] real.”

He added that the ability to cohost with a new person every day or two is quite an accomplishment:

“To be able to sit next to someone different every day or two and do this, that’s a feat.”

Jenna Bush Hager continues to impress with her adaptability and charisma as the steady cohost of this evolving show format.

Would you like the tone to be more formal or conversational?
