The National Parenting Support Commission (NPSC) has expanded its helpline network to better assist parents affected by Hurricane Melissa. This initiative is part of NPSC’s continuous efforts to offer timely psychosocial and practical support during the recovery phase.
All helplines are fully operational and staffed by trained professionals who offer assistance, referrals to key services, and advice for managing post-hurricane challenges. Parents can also connect via WhatsApp on any of these numbers.
“In times of crisis, parenting becomes even more complex. The NPSC is ensuring that parents are not navigating this period alone. Our helplines offer a space to talk, seek guidance and be connected to resources that support both emotional and practical recovery.”
Kerr emphasized that the helpline expansion underscores NPSC’s dedication to helping parents rebuild and adjust to new circumstances.
The helplines operate Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m., providing a safe environment for parents to seek support and guidance in coping with post-disaster stress. Parents are also encouraged to share helpful information with others in their community.
Summary: The NPSC has extended its helpline services to support parents through Hurricane Melissa's aftermath, offering emotional and practical assistance via multiple channels staffed by professionals.
