Trailer Park Boys Actor Charged with Sexual Assault

The actor best known for his role as Bubbles in the series Trailer Park Boys has been charged with sexual assault in Nova Scotia. The Nova Scotia Public Prosecution Service confirmed to Acadia Broadcasting that Mike Smith is scheduled for arraignment in November.

Court documents reveal that the charge concerns an alleged incident from December 30, 2017, in or near Dartmouth, N.S. The materials also indicate that Smith was ordered to avoid any contact with the complainant and to stay away from her residence, workplace, or educational institution. He signed an agreement to comply with these terms in October.

The prosecution service noted it would seek a publication ban on any information that could identify the alleged victim, as required under the Criminal Code of Canada.

It remains unclear whether Smith will appear in person or be represented by counsel during his arraignment. The Globe & Mail reported that Trailer Park Boys, Inc., the company behind the show, released a statement acknowledging awareness of the allegations. The company added that Smith had stepped aside from his managerial position within the organization.
